(Surah Al-Kahf, 18:10)

The Qur’an is filled with timeless prayers that teach us how to turn to Allah in every situation. One of the most beautiful and powerful supplications is found in Surah Al-Kahf, verse 10. It is the dua of the Ashabul Kahf — the Companions of the Cave — a group of young believers who sought refuge from a society filled with disbelief and corruption.

When they fled to the cave, uncertain of what lay ahead, they turned to Allah with sincere hearts and made this heartfelt dua. It reflects deep faith, humility, and complete trust in the mercy and guidance of Allah.

The story of the Companions of the Cave is one of courage and devotion. These young men lived in a time when the people around them had abandoned the worship of Allah. Refusing to compromise their faith, they left everything behind — their homes, families, and worldly comfort — seeking refuge in a cave.

In their solitude and fear, they raised their hands and said:

“Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.”

This simple yet profound prayer shows that even in moments of weakness and uncertainty, turning to Allah brings light and direction to the heart.

This dua carries two main requests:

Together, these two phrases teach us that true success comes from a combination of Allah’s mercy and His guidance.

Make it a part of your daily prayers — it’s a beautiful reminder that Allah’s guidance is the key to success and peace in this world and the next.

The dua from Surah Al-Kahf (18:10) is a timeless message of faith, reliance, and hope. It reminds us that even in moments of fear or hardship, Allah’s mercy and guidance are always within reach. Like the Companions of the Cave, when we turn to Allah with sincerity, He opens doors we never imagined and protects us in ways beyond our understanding.

So the next time life feels uncertain, recite this dua from your heart —

Rabbana atina min ladunka rahmatan wahayi lana min amrina rashada.

And trust that Allah will guide you toward what is best. 🌸
