Here are some simple Duas (supplications) from Islamic tradition that you can recite for stress, anxiety, and mental peace. These are easy to remember and can be repeated daily:
1. Dua for Anxiety and Distress
Arabic:
> اللّهُمّ إني أعوذ بك من الهم والحزن
Transliteration:
Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min al-hammi wal-hazan
Meaning:
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief.”
This is a powerful and straightforward dua taught by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for easing anxiety.
2. Dua for Relieving Hardship
Arabic:
> اللّهُم لا سهل إلا ما جعلته سهلا، وأنت تجعل الحزن إذا شئت سهلا
Transliteration:
Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja’altahu sahla, wa anta taj’alul hazna idha shi’ta sahla
Meaning:
“O Allah, there is no ease except what You make easy, and You make the difficult easy if You will.”
3. Ayat al-Kursi (Quran 2:255)
Reciting Ayat al-Kursi provides protection and tranquility:
Arabic:
> اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ …
Transliteration:
Allahu la ilaha illa Huwa, Al-Hayyul-Qayyum …
Meaning:
“Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all existence…”
Recite it morning and evening for inner peace and protection from anxiety.
4. Short Daily Dua for Peace of Mind
Arabic:
> حسبي الله لا إله إلا هو عليه توكلت وهو رب العرش العظيم
Transliteration:
Meaning:
“Allah is sufficient for me; there is no deity except Him. In Him I place my trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.”
5. Saying SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar
Repeating these remembrances (dhikr) helps calm the heart and reduce stress:
SubhanAllah – Glory be to Allah
Alhamdulillah – All praise is for Allah
